by Ethan Kaimana
Piled youth. Agitant Hampshire pine
Taken into a basement
Waiting
Room for the next to come.
Flaked tin, pricking through the window
Uninvited.
In comes six decades–
There I was, Stumbling beak
Upturned
Grinding,
Chalk lips and Cat’s tail,
Wilting
Into the ditch.
Rubble,
weeks later
Tied to slabs; A lecture room
Old sounds
Made necessary.
