Two Poems
by Nadia Niva

Let Me Know

Blink your whiskers onto me
Fumble with my wet pajamas

I have a sailboat of sinking water
I am going to claw my life away
in that puddle over there

Garbage men are coming to collect
the vague errata of my planet
and there’s nothing I can do

Can't/Won't

I can’t help remembering myself
From here I can almost smell the cumquat trees...

Depreciating fruition being another thing
to look forward to...

The other day I purchased a pet cloud
to stash between myself and the rest of space

Turns out the state was busy
making an interactive map of me

There comes the time to raise your voice and
squirrel away what remains of your pride

I am a really long rope
not worth my manufacturing costs...

How about one place you can go
to be absolutely lonely?

They won’t even give us that
