Three Poems
by Sean M. Foster

Cold War in Bentonville

old sign factory
          secret office
abandoned industrial area
carousel animal train
only way in, out.
Once there,
you find they’re building
troll algorithms
          in trailers
for the South’s propaganda machine.
They’re building maths
          for Jesus.
For Christendom.
For Creationism.
For madness.
they might be from Russia,
or working on logistics
          for Walmart.
scrawled on a cinder block wall
colored red and white
like the inside of the big top
Bezmenov Lives
          in Bentonville.

Low-Country Boil

red clay riverbanks
erode South Carolina
into caught crawdads

Geminis

freon drip drips cool
on twin kindergarten heads
machine tears recoil
